After so much of Obama baiting in her campaigns, Sarah Palin, the Republican vice-presidential candidate has finally given up on her party. She has now openly expressed her support for the Democratic ticket represented by Barrack Obama. Here’s how she expressed her support:

Apparently Palin does not know that the donkey is the symbol of the Democratic party. By wearing this neck scarf she has thus publicly pledged her support for Obama.
The Obama campaign must be thanking their stars. Not often do you get the rival vice-presidential candidate to endorse you publicly, do you?

With the economy in shambles, costs mounting and the Iraq situation nowhere near to being over, the US is in an unprecedented situation. People in the country are being forced to cough up more money to live their lives. Jobs are hard to come by with unemployment reaching new highs.
But in spite of this the current Bush administration wants to help its dear darling friend Pakistan. Pakistan is the state that offers refuge to some of the world’s most dangerous terrorists like Bin Laden. Pakistan is a country that allows dangerous underworld gang leaders like Dawood Ibrahim to stay within its boundaries and lies to the world about them. Pakistan is a country that maintains training camps for dreaded terrorists. Pakistan is the country that is thwarting US advances to capture and wipe out the Al Qaeda. Despite damning evidence, the US government still wants to help Pakistan.
This time the US government wants to help Pakistan upgrade its F-16 fleet. The premise is that it would help in the fight against terror in the borders of Afghanistan. The total cost of the upgrade is $891 million. Of this Pakistan would be paying $414 and the rest would be bourne by the US. Thats more than half the amount!!! Reportedly already around $200 million has been arranged by the US and for rest its waiting on the congress. Can US afford to do this? Shouldn’t the US invest this money into its economy?
Even after providing Pakistan with financial and millitary help through the years what has Pakistan given back? Has it helped in curbing terrorism? No. Has it helped the US in capturing the Al Qaeda? No. Has it handed over the dangerous fugitives that it harbours to the countries requesting extradition? No. So why then does the US want to help Pakistan? What is in it for the US?
Of course the money that Pakistan gets from US is used more for funding terrorism than for any other purpose. So indirectly US is actually helping the terrorists in Pakistan and terrorism on the whole.

It is a known fact for quite some time now that the United States of America are going through probably one its worst economic slowdowns ever. Add to that the rising fuel costs and the situation worsens further. Luckily in the last week or so fuel prices have gone down providing a bit of relief to the people. But is it good in the long term? I think not.
Fuel prices should stay up – around $4.2. Before everybody starts abusing me I would like to offer an alternative plan that’s going to provide benefits in the long term. I am no economist but one of the many who have been hit hard by the rising cost of fuel and the associated rise in cost of living.
The US consumes almost 25% of the world’s gas supply. In the present situation a futuristic energy policy is much needed. What we need is more vehicles running on alternative fuel. Yes, hydrogen and batteries are all great but they are not the best that we can use. That honor goes to CNG – compressed natural gas. It is possible to run vehicles on CNG. The current engines can still be used. All we need is a conversion kit. Such kits are quite widely available. CNG has been proven to run heavy motor vehicles like buses. Check out the CNG powered public buses that ply the roads of New Delhi, India. Not only is CNG an inexpensive alternative to gasoline its also cleaner and overall better for the environment.
Here’s what we should do. Keep the price of fuel at around $4.2 per gallon. Offer subsidized CNG conversion kits to the public. For transport companies and trucks offer gasoline at a lower price. Reduce the price of aviation fuel.
Keeping the general price of gasoline high would force people to reduce consumption. But in order to allow them the same or greater level of mobility offer them CNG conversion kits at a subsidy. This way people would still be able to use their cars and pick-ups and that too at a very affordable price.
Keeping the price of gasoline low for transport companies would help keep the cost of goods transportation low. This would translate into lower prices for consumers.
Reducing the price of aviation fuel will give a boost to the tourism industry as it would bring down the cost of tickets thereby encouraging more people to travel.
In effect by keeping the price of gas high for the general public the country as a whole can profit more.

Throughout the history of mankind, there have been numerous occasions when the population of a state or country has bayed for the bloods of its leaders. Sometimes they did have reasons to do so though most of the time it was a sway of emotion that caused such outbursts.
George Bush Jr has caused hundreds of American soldiers to be killed for his foolish experiment in Iraq. There is genocide happening in Darfur. Mamata Banerjee in India has caused thousands to lose their land and living leaving them on the verge of suicide.
When a leader destroys the prospect of hundreds or thousands of people, should he or she be killed?
Are political assassinations ever justified?
Tell me in your comments.

Three years of turmoil and countless agitations later Tata Motors finally pulled the plug on the Nano factory at Singur. The only one to have slept well that night must have been the leader of the Trinamool Congress Mamata Banerjee.
The issue was the 1000 acres of land that the government had acquired for the Tata’s. Apparently there were some unwilling farmers who had lost their lands to this acquisition. Mamata Banerjee’s demand was to have the government return 400 acres of land from within the project area. With the government unwilling Banerjee laid siege to the factory and allegedly had her followers beat up employees on their way to work in the factory. Of course she has never admitted to it. She has even denied that some of her cronies threatened a visiting delegation of IT workers to not get entangled in the matter. This in spite of the incident taking place in front of the press.
What the hell does she think of herself? With the Tata’s pulling out what happens to the farmers now Ms Banerjee? Where are you now? With the land virtually gone (even if returned it won’t be cultivable) what would the farmers now do? To compensate the farmers who tilled 400 acres Mamata Banerjee ruined the lives of all those who had been connected to the whole 1000 acres not to mention the numerous others who had banked on the support industry that would have grown around the factory.

Mamata Banerjee is a bitch. What else can you call her? Her contribution to West Bengal, let alone India, is zilch. So in the rest of this blog Mamata Banerjee is referred to as The Bitch.
Uneducated, uncouth, crass, crude, stupid, unappealing, worthless. These are some of the terms that can be used to describe The Bitch. Trinamool Congress as a party has done nothing for the people of West Bengal. Accepted that the CPM are no saints and some might argue that they got a taste of their own medicine this time. What is the point in such reasoning? Who are the ultimate losers? The pople of Bengal.
Recent reports mentioned the local people in Singur being extremely heart-broken and distraught. They have even burnt effigies of Mamata. Why now folks? What were you doing all this time? Well the truth of the matter is that the people who were protesting with Mamata were not locals. They were Naxalites and some other groups that had no interest in the development of Singur. Why was Amar Singh there? What is his stake in West Bengal?
The central government may have played a big role in this. Ever since the no-confidence motion over the nuclear deal, all the opposition led states have been seeing bomb blasts and other disturbances. It will not suprise anybody if it comes to light that the central government supported The Bitch in her mindless antics.
Before the Tata’s pulled out The Bitch and her cronies like Partha Chatterjee and Becharam Manna were present in Singur all the time. As of the latest reports they can no longer be seen in that area.
The Bitch has not come out with a statement after the Tata pullout. Has she lost her bark? All through the crisis, whenever questioned by the media, The Bitch and her cronies never answered the question. For instance when Sourav Ganguly stated that the Nano factory will be good for Bengal, The Bitch retorted “Does Sourav know where is Singur?”. Here’s a question for you Bitch, did you know where Singur was prior to the Tata factory? For that matter did you know that there was actually a Nandigram in West Bengal before it became the centre of a bloodbath? A negative answer to these questions will not surprise anybody. What else can we expect of The Bitch?
So what’s next for The Bitch? Looks like she is already licking her paws and getting ready to obstruct the nuclear power project that is slated to come up soon. Also on her agenda are the Areotropolis and the DLF projects. Having tasted blood, The Bitch is hungry for more.

The Maharashtra government is all set to approve a proposal where live-in relationships stand to be recognized. The proposal is to bestow the status of a ‘wife’ on a woman who is involved in such a relationship. A really progressive move by the government of Maharashtra that is cognizant of the fact that Mumbai has the highest number of live-in relationships. Bangalore follows close on Mumbai’s heels.
There is an existing concept of a common law marriage wherein couples who share a live-in relationship are recognized as married couples and enjoy the same rights as traditionally married couples. The only difference is that common law marriages are never solemnised.
This move by the Maharashtra government is sure to raise a few eyebrows and ruffle a lot of feathers. But I strongly feel this would help in the long term. The Indian society ever since liberalisation has lapped up all that western culture had to offer. It was only a matter of time before this aspect of western culture creeped in. The past few years have seen a rise in the number of couples opting for live-in relationships. To most it was a matter of convenience – sort of a no strings attached arrangement. Some of those have eventually solemnised their relationship in marriage but there are still many who prefer the current arrangement.
Governtment ratification of live-in relationships would help in making it more socially accepted. This phenomenon is going to play a very important role in the societal make up of the future India. Till now there is a lot of stigma associated with it, but it seems things are about to change. Of course its not going to be an overnight process but surely with a legal approval behind it proponents of live-in relationships can look forward to a more open and accepting Indian society.

Who is Sarah Palin? This was the question on the minds of a majority of Americans when John McCain announced her as the Republican vice-presidential candidate for the upcoming US presidential elections. The McCain campaign machinery went into overdrive to establish Palin as the face of the campaign.
Introduction of Palin in the McCain campaign injected a freshness that initially held the whole nation in sway. As time went on the charm wore off. Even though initially very impressive in her speeches, Palin committed gaffe, after gaffe, after gaffe in the subsequent days. Now it seems that she is all about winks and smiles and “darn”-s and “gosh”-s.
Palin is a person who cannot answer a question. To her, every question appears to be a tricky one. Even ones as simple and straight forward as what magazines she reads got cryptic and twisted answers. To the questions about her choice of magazines she went on a ramble about Alaska not being a third-world state. What the….!!!
She has displayed a very disappointing command over foreign policy and her ignorance reached its peak when somehow she tried to convince that being able to see Russia from parts of Alaska was tantamount to having foreign policy experience. She has very little idea about the truth about Iraq and all she does is toe the party line on it.
Her being pro-life is really another laughable aspect. The entire concept of being pro-life or anti-abortion is somewhat related to curtailing the freedom of choice of people. In fact, during the VP debate, she appeared to be very much uncomfortable about and against the idea of same-sex marriage. Wake up Mrs Palin!!! This is the 21st century.
During the debate she mentioned something about sitting around the kitchen table and discussing the future of her family. From the facts she is doing a pretty lousy job of looking after her family. She has a 16 year old daughter who is pregnant with the child of a 17 year old high-school hockey player and wants to get married to the boy. Is this what Mrs Palin sees as the future of her family? Or is sending off her eldest son to Iraq just after high-school qualify as future planning? Beats me.
She keeps on saying that she is a hockey mom. Ok we accept it. But why would we want a hockey mom as the VP of USA? We need is a person who has the credentials for the job and clearly Sarah Palin is not qualified. All she has to say is about her tenure as a mayor and a governor. As a mayor she commissioned a sports complex which is mired in controversy and lawsuits. As a mayor of a town of 6000 people she left the town with a budget deficit. As a governor she commissioned the failed bridge to nowhere but succeeded in building the road to nowhere. And all this with taxpayers money. When she can’t properly manage a state with a population of 700,000 people (most of the cities in the US have more population) how can she manage the country as a VP?
Lastly, Sarah Palin talks of being a Washington outsider and she prides herself for that. But by contesting the elections isn’t she trying to be an insider? So why this fake show of pride Mrs Palin? Who are you trying to impress?
All these facts show that Sarah Palin is nothing but a shallow, unqualified, stupid and incapable hypocrite.

Here’s a list of 10 problems with John McCain:
- He is a second George W Bush Jr.
- He keeps presenting half-truths to people.
- He never answers a question straight.
- He keeps on harping about his past record and then accuses the Obama campaign of looking too much into the past. By the way his past records are nothing to be proud of.
- He is extremely condescending and says that Obama does not understand due to his inexperience. However he never tries to explain either.
- He supports the killing of Americans in the foolish Iraq war – USA’s second Vietnam.
- He does not have a plan to pull the economy out of its current rut.
- He is offensive and disrespectful towards his opponent (remember “that one” from the second debate? Also see this video where he refused to shake hands with Obama).
- He chose Sarah Palin as his running mate – a completely ridiculous choice.
- He tries a bit too much to appeal to the emotions of the people without having a concrete plan to help them.
So people, decide for yourself and take a stand.

So its about eight years since the second Iraq war started. And what has the US gained out of it? Nothing really. Right now US is facing the worst economic disaster since the Great Depression. But yet the Republicans defend their decision on the Iraq war.
So what’s the truth?
US went into this war alleging that Iraq was piling weapons of mass destruction(WMD). Did they find any? No.
The govt thought it would be a quick and easy war. Was it so? No.
The govt never expected the costs to mount. The reality is US spends almost $10 billion every month on this war.
Are they going to stop any soon? No. Why? Because they do not want to come back home defeated. For the love of God, whom did they win over? Whom were they fighting? There was no resistance offered. So who would have defeated them?
Was Al Quaida established in Iraq? No, but after the US invasion they found a few bases here and there.
Are the people of Iraq happy with the US occupation? Can’t really say. The reports that appear in the American media have every chance of being biased.
Right now the US economy is in a rut. They have huge deficits and debts. The recent bailout of $850 billion did very little to the stock market. The govt blames Wallstreet for excessive greed when they themselves are victims of the same.
After 9/11 when the US should have concentrated wholly on Afghanistan to weed out the Taliban (whom they created in the first place) and the Al Quaida, they chose to dabble in Iraq. The British govt had already owned up to the fact that the Iraq war was a mistake, but not the current arrogant US govt. The result is the people of the country paying through their nose. In eight years, going by $10 billion a month, the US govt spent close to $1 trillion on Iraq. Wouldn’t it have been good to have that money now?
John McCain, the present Republican presidential candidate, keeps on saying that the surge in Iraq is a success. Well I have news for you John. The surge wouldn’t have been required if you and your stupid friend George W Bush Jr didn’t go into Iraq in the first place. What did you gain out of it? A big zero. Instead thousands of US nationals lost their lives. Yet the govt persists. Iraq did not have an Al Quaida cell or terrorism before the war, but now it does. In Afganisthan, the Taliban and Al Quaida are resurgent. So now the US has to fight them on two fronts rather than one. So indirectly the US has encouraged terrorist acitivities. Did they get oil in return? Naah.
Iran was not a threat in the region due to the long standing rivalry with Iraq. Iraq in one way helped keep Iran in check. But with Iraq gone, Iran is a direct threat to the peace in the region, to the US national security and to the world at large. So who is to blame for that? The lame, short-sighted, arrogant, stupid George W Bush administration.
In short, whether the current govt admits to it or not, Iraq is turning out to be the second Vietnam for the United States of America.

So the people in India who qualify as SC/ST/OBC are having a great time with reservations being made for them in institutes of higher learning like the IITs, IIMs and AIIMS. The latest is that even the faculty positions for these hallowed institutes are being subjected to this caste based quota system. The culprit is Arjun Singh and the minority appeasing terrorist political party of India – the Congress. This party comprises of people who condone terrorist acts against India and play the minority card deftly.
A few questions for Arjun Singh:
- What caste do you belong to?
- Would you have yourself or any of your family members operated upon with a doctor who was admitted to his medical course on the virtue of his being an SC/ST/OBC?
- Would you have your children be educated by teachers who were appointed again on the virtue of them being an SC/ST/OBC?
I doubt we are going to get answers to this question from Arjun Singh. So what a happens to the future of India because of a few idiots like him? Here’s what we can expect:
Hello people of the 21st century!
I am living in 2108 and am a resident of India, although I’m not Indian. Ever since United Kingdom agreed to rule India upon India’s request, there was some Britisher or the other doing the job I’m currently doing over here in this country called India where only unqualified engineers and doctors live. It’s really difficult to live in a pariah nation like this. But I’m fine because I live among the colonies of the elite.
Ever since this thing called time-fax machine was invented, people like me can send fax to the past and that’s how this comes to you.
India’s elite and educated now lives in large private areas and have employed non-Indian maids and house-help and are prospering well. Howver, 98% of the middle class is composed of people who are now called flea junta; illiterate B.Tech and MBBS degree-holders who were able to study at IIT/AIIMS because they were fortunate enough to be born in a caste that reserved their admission. How did this happen?
Well, there was a mantri called arjun singh (These days we don’t capitalise names of people who have not had a formal death ceremony after death. They were eaten by insects over time.)
He died because of a mistake made by a surgeon operating on him. The surgeon made the cut too deep and infected arjun’s intestines. The surgeon even sewed up leaving a bottle of spirit in arjun’s body. arjun was discharged from the hospital and lived hell for 3 weeks before the spirit completely burned arjun’s innards.
It was later discovered that the surgeon had studied in AIIMS and had gotten admission by virtue of his caste. Also, to make matters worse he was taught by a professor who had gotten admission by the same virtue. arjun singh’s family sued the hospital for negligence and even went to court but the surgeon’s family and friends beat arjun singh’s family to death with stones. The case was closed at that point. arjun singh’s family too was eaten by insects and dogs, maybe even some hungry people. Yes, there are a lot of cannibals in this country now.
Many people here hope to send their kids to relatively better countries like Sudan and Somalia for higher education since they are unwelcome in developed nations like US and UK.
Be warned and change course when you can,
Adam Baum
